AI audio to MIDI converter transcribing singing voice and instrument audio into MIDI piano roll notes

Turn a recording into editable notes.

Upload a song and pick one part. The model isolates it, estimates every pitch and rhythm, and hands you a standard .mid file for any DAW.

Upload audio & convert to MIDI

Step by step

  1. Upload your audio file

    MP3, WAV, M4A or OGG. A 320 kbps MP3 or a WAV beats a low-bitrate rip.

  2. Choose the part to transcribe

Vocals, bass, piano, guitar or drums. Single-line parts transcribe most cleanly.

  3. Fix and export MIDI

Nudge any wrong octaves or timing in the editor, then export a standard .mid file.

How audio-to-MIDI conversion works

Turning audio into MIDI is a transcription problem, not a file conversion. An MP3 is a wall of mixed sound; MIDI is a list of notes: which pitch, when it starts, how long it lasts. To get from one to the other, the tool has to hear the melody the way a musician would.

JamScore AI does this in two stages. First it separates the song into stems so the part you care about is isolated from everything around it, since a lead vocal on its own transcribes far more accurately than a vocal buried under a full band. Then an AI transcription model estimates the pitch and timing of each note in that isolated part and writes them to MIDI.

What you can do with the MIDI

Honest note on accuracy: automatic transcription gets the shape of a melody right most of the time, but octave jumps, fast runs, and heavy vibrato can trip it up. Treat the output as a strong first draft you clean up in the editor, which is still far faster than transcribing note-by-note from scratch.

Frequently asked questions

Can I convert a full song to MIDI at once?

You convert one part at a time. AI transcription is most accurate on a single line (a vocal, a bassline, a piano), so you choose which part to transcribe, then run the tool again for other parts.

What audio formats can I upload?

MP3, WAV, M4A and OGG. For the cleanest transcription use the highest-quality file you have; heavily compressed rips give the model less pitch information to work with.

Is the MIDI perfect?

No automatic transcription is perfect. Expect to fix a few wrong octaves or missed notes, which is exactly why the MIDI opens in an editor before you export it.

Does it cost anything?

You can start free: the free plan covers three songs a month. Pro and Studio remove the limit and add higher-fidelity separation.
